As of midnight tonight, the Holidays are over. Tomorrow we are all settle back into our regular routine. But after the 6 weeks give or take between Thanksgiving & today, are you regular? Or is it time for a cleanse?
You know how you are hearing in the media that we are inundated with toxins from our environment? That includes our food supply, air, & water. If you haven't heard click here for the trailer to a video I highly recommend. If you want to watch the entire video go to http://www.foodmatters.tv/
As for cleansing, there are many types of cleanses. Most concentrate on one organ such as the liver or perhaps the colon. These are an OK place to start but as soon as the cleanse is over the impurities in the blood dump back into said organ.
There is a popular cleanse called the Master Cleanse. You can "google" it to find out more, so I am not going to discuss it except to say that IMHO it is harsh, missing nutrients and I do not recommend it. I am not alone in this opinion.
There is a cleanse I can recommend because it is healthy, safe, very nutrition, and actually good for you. It is a program you can and should stay on for life. If you'd like more information email me at info@isalifecoach.com
Let's detox and get regular the healthy way together...

More Happy New Year
For at least the first few weeks of January people will be saying "Happy New Year" to each other. How can we actually make 2009 a happy New Year?
One of the ways to help assure a happy New Year is goal setting. First take some time to reflect on last year. What happened that was good or bad and ordinary or extraordinary? Obviously we can't go back and change anything but we can create a better year this year with a plan. It doesn't have to be detailed, just come up with some goals you would like to accomplish this year.
Maybe you'd like to read a couple of books, go on a great vacation, see a Yankees game...the sky is the limit. Start a journal and jot down those goals. When you write things down it brings them into focus.
"We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day."
-Edith Lovejoy Pierce (Poet b.1904)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
It is official! 2008 is history! 2009 is the present!
Let's look at that word...present. Present is synonymous with gift. We all know what a gift is...we just finished the biggest gift giving season of the year. Between Hanukkah and Christmas billions of dollars were spent.
But I am not talking about that sort of present. I am referring to the gift of time. Time is our most precious commodity. Once we spent time we can never get it back. If you lose money you we can earn more. If you lose a possession you can get another one. Ever lose anything? a wallet, cell phone? You went out and bought another one (of course after calling your credit card companies, DMV, etc in the case of a wallet) But we only have a finite amount of time.
How do you use your spare time? I don't have any spare time, you say? Oh, really? How much time do you "spend" surfing the net, playing video games, or the biggest robber of all time...TV? They call it "programming for a reason." What if you turned off the TV this year and read a book? I can share a list of books that could at the very least getting you thinking...on that more later.
Please take some time to reflect on the last year. What would you like to change about yourself, your life, your finances in 2009?
In the meantime, I hope you are having a great New Year's day.

Breakfast is the most important meal
Our moms told us that when we were growing up. Mom was right! Aren't hungry in the morning? Don't have time? Do you just grab a cup of coffee? Maybe a bagel or muffin? Do you know that it has been proven that if you eat protein in the morning you will consume less calories throughout the day? And that our brains need protein to function properly?
For better health, it's not good to skip meals, because when we do eat we tend to overeat. One of the reasons we aren't hungry in the morning is because we eat too late at night. Those calories don't get burned like they would if they were eaten earlier in the day.
Our bodies should rest or "fast" overnight, then we'll be hungry in the morning...take the time to eat a protein rich break-fast, your brain will thank you and so will your waistline.
BTW: This is especially important for our kids. They will learn more, perform better in school, and grow up strong and healthy.

Post Holiday blahs...
Did you know that that they say that the average person gains 7-10 lbs during the time period between Thanksgiving & New Year's? That translates to a lot of eating & drinking!
That brings to mind New Year's Resolutions...do you know the top two New Year's Resolutions?? According to USA Today they are not necessarily in this order: ;-)
#1. Lose weight (or Get in Shape)
#2. Get out of debt (or Make more money)
If you would like to learn more about how to not only release weight but put on lean muscle mass at the same time stay tuned.
